You CAN'T register twice with the same email address. Simply email help@spaceforhealth.net and someone will send you your username and a new password.

What search methods are available on the website?

This depends on which part of the website you are in.

To search ‘Clinical services’, ‘Healthcare environment’ or ‘Spaces & costs’ – use the search panel on the top right-hand-side of the website.

To search the pdfs in ‘Publications’ – there are three search methods available:

1. Drop-down menu. Select one or more options by Control-clicking (Command-click on a Mac) and then click “Go”. Use the “Clear Selections” button if you want to change your selection.
2. Advanced search. Fill in one or more of the fields to search (you don’t need to complete them all). Search for phrases by putting them in double quotes “ ”.
3. Publications list. If you want a current publication you can scroll down this list to look for the one you need.

As a contractor working for an NHS organisation, do I qualify for free access?

Unfortunately, contractors working for an NHS organisation do not qualify for free access. However, you can join Space for Health’s growing private membership for an annual per-user fee of £275.

How do I purchase a subscription?

RegisterLogin → go to 'Publications' → click on ‘subscribe’ on the right-hand-side of the page → pay for the subscription (see payment methods below).

What methods of payment are available?

There are two ways to pay for subscriptions:

1. by credit card (default);

2. by requesting an invoice. (You must have requested to pay by invoice at registration to receive this option. If you haven’t, email help@spaceforhealth.net and our administrators can arrange this for you.)

Credit card payments will give you instant access.

If you request an invoice, your subscription will begin on the date when payment is made. Users who prefer to pay on invoice will be given three months’ notice of renewing their subscriptions.

I haven't received my verification email, how long should it take?

The verification email goes out instantly. Failure to arrive could be due to a spam filter or to a typing error in your email address. Please email help@spaceforhealth.net for help.

I qualify for free access, but I am being prompted for payment.

The website has given you the wrong level of access. This could be a technical error. Or if you have entered a personal email address, such as hotmail, the system won't have recognised you as a public sector employee. Please email the web administration team (help@spaceforhealth.net) from your qualifying public sector email account, to be granted free access.

If you work directly for a qualifying organisation but do not have such an email account, email: help@spaceforhealth.net.

Can I use a Knowledge & Information Portal (KIP) login on Space for Health?

Your KIP login will only work on Space for Health if you registered after July 2009. If not, please register on Space for Health. If you are experiencing problems logging on to Space for Health with a KIP login, please email help@spaceforhealth.net.

Can I change my login details?

Yes, you can change your login details under the 'Publications' tab. Go to ‘Change Your Info’ – 'Edit' – 'Update Your Profile' to change your password and details. You can also opt-in to ‘new publication email alerts’ (under the ‘Additional info’ tab).

In ‘Publications’, how do I view the whole item description?

In the results of your search, please click on the arrow once to expand the document description. Click on it again to make the expanded description disappear.  

In ‘Publications’, how do I download pdfs?

Why are some publications missing from the ‘Publications list’?

The list only contains “current” pdfs of publications. If the publication you’re looking for is archived, you need to find it using the Advanced Search.

What is the status of an archived publication?

Where do I find schedules of accommodation?

The schedules of accommodation are in ‘Publications’, appended inside the back of the Health Building Note they relate to, rather than being separate Excel files; a few are in sections of the online manuals. The latter are also to be found under the ‘Spaces & costs’ tab.
